MUDEFORD CRICKET CLUB NEWSLETTER Feb 10
With the new season approaching I thought I’d better get a newsletter letter out to let to bring you up to date with forthcoming dates, events etc.
Pre-Season Nets & Practice
Pre-Season nets at the Dorset Cricket Centre are on Wednesday evening’s starting 24/03/2010 to 28/04/2010 from 8pm to 9pm, We have two lanes plus the bowling machine. No decision has been made regarding outdoor practise at the Rec, interest will be gauged at indoor nets.
The first Hampshire League matches of the season are on Saturday 8th May for all sides, with Dorset starting a week earlier on Sunday 2nd May.
Please note that we have withdrawn the Wimborne Evening League side as no-one could be found to Captain the side next season.
Pre-Season Race Night (Get together) and Golf Day.
Mudeford Men’s Club have kindly offered us a Race Night at the Club on Saturday 17th April from 7:00pm. This is a good opportunity to have a pre-season get together as well a raise some well needed funds for the Cricket Club. Under 18’s will be allowed in on the evening, but will not be allowed alcohol, a buffet will be provided by the Mens Club. Last years event was well attended by younger members of the cricket club, and it would be nice to see a few more senior players and partners in attendance this year. Provided we support this event the Mens club have offered to donate 50% of the profits to the Cricket club.
Liam Pettingell is also looking to organise a Golf Day on Saturday 5th April, probable venue is Moors Valley Golf Club. Please contact Liam 0798 353 3087 for more details.
Club Kit
David Vines & Liam Pettingell are collecting orders for new kit incorporating the Mudeford CC logo. This includes shirts, sweaters, caps & hoodies. David & Liam will be happy to take your orders.
2009 AGM details
For those of you who were unable to attend the AGM, it was decided that senior match fees for the season would be increased to £8.00, while under 18’s & students remain at £4.00. Signing on fee’s are to remain at £35.00 if paid by the 3rd game of the season or £40.00 thereafter. For U16’s,Student’s and unemployed the signing on fee will remain at £15.00.
We have a number of new Officers within the club for 2010, Ben Walker is the new 1st Team Captain, Simon Keeping has taken up the reigns for the 2nd’s and Liam Pettingell is the Sunday Team Captain. I would like to wish them, as well as 3rd and 4th Team Captains, Mark Lampert and David Vines every success for the coming season. Yvonne Walker has kindly agreed to take on the Treasures role to be assisted by Tricia Wilkinson, my thanks to both of them.
Club Together
We are again participating in the Club Together scheme with Hampshire CCC. Benefits to the Club include
1) 50 Tickets to an ECB 40 Over League Match. We intend to sell these at a reduced rate to raise funds for the club.
2) 10 Junior tickets to each ECB 40 Over League Match
3) 50%Cashback on ECB 40 Over League and LVCC matches in 2010.
4) 25% Cashback on selected Friends Provident T20 matches
5) 20% Cashback on new Hampshire Cricket Membership
6) Priority net booking at The Rosebowl with discounted hire rates.
